DOs and DON’Ts
Poker etiquette is not rules, they are manners applied to how the game of poker is played. Sometimes a player’s emotions may get in the way of poker etiquette. This can be understandable as long as it doesn’t become a continuous disregard for acceptable behavior.

Poker etiquette can have a large range of DOs and DON’Ts. This list is not all-inclusive but it does include many aspects most players consider appropriate for the game of poker.

Don’t Waste Time:
Act promptly and pay attention at all times.

Table Chatter:
Table Chatter: Keep at a low volume, especially when not in a hand.

Politeness:
Do not berate or speak angrily to anyone.

Splashing the Pot:
Makes it difficult identifying your bet.

Hit and Run:
Is when a player wins a big pot and shortly cashes out

One Player Per Hand:
When not in a hand do not coach another player.

Angle Shooting:
Use of unethical tactics to gain an advantage.

Dirty Stack:
Higher denomination chips must be in clear view.

One-Chip Bet Rule:
A bet of a single chip is a call unless otherwise announced.

Cards Speak:
Only the actual value of a hand determines winners.

String Bets:
Using more than one motion to make a bet is not allowed.

Show One, Show All:
Cards that are shown to one player must be shown to all players.

Slow-Rolling:
Is when a player holds an extremely strong hand and intentionally takes a long pause before showing their hand.
